How to enter your event yourself

Since September 2023, the German Bundestag, the City of Bonn and other stakeholders have been celebrating 75 years of democracy made in Bonn. If you are planning a thematically relevant event, you can publish it here in the event calendar.

Simply select the topic of democracy in the event entry form.

Historical introduction
Bonn is the cradle of the most stable democracy on German soil. The basis of our democratic order is still the Basic Law today.

From politics and contemporary history: The topic is Bonn
The Federal Agency for Civic Education/bpb is publishing the new issue of APuZ with the theme "Bonn". To mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany, the focus is on the period of the Bonn Republic with Bonn as the federal capital. Among other things, the question of what special features led to the "provincial city" of Bonn becoming the (provisional) capital of West Germany after the Second World War is discussed.
